U Fish?

Me too! I went to take this picture when the fish was laying flat and just as I clicked the button he jumped up on edge like this in the shape of a u or backwards lower case j. I thought it looked kinda weird.

Willow Creek

This is the first glance of the creek as I crossed the road. It is fairly well travelled and accustomed to regular fisherman. They stock this portion of creek and many who fish here bring the trout back to their camps for meals. If you like to camp in a beautiful place and catch fish then Hope Valley is a fine place to do so. It’s at a high elevation so it gets cold at night, but is comfortable during the day. They have bear lockers to store your food so you need not worry about animals stealing your food. This year we had late snows so their is a large population of mosquitos. I used spray which worked fine and even though they were swarming around I didn’t get any bites at all with the spray. Close by are larger rivers like the Walker and Grover Hot Springs is only about 12 miles away if you want to get a nice relaxing soak in. Also right in Markleeville is a store, resteraunt, store, and museum. Not a bad choice over all to visit, fish, camp, and get the heck out of Dodge!

I like a safe base, a place, to keep my stuffed sleeping bag in place.
